About the route
Ascent of Gorgan-Ilemsky (1587 m) from Myslivka. The route is circular and can be walked in either direction. One option is to start via Pustoshak Malyi (1313 m) and Pustoshak Velykyi (1423 m), and after the summit descend towards the polonynas. This way the main elevation gain falls on the first part of the route.
At the start of the route there is the Pravych waterfall. After that the path mostly goes through forest. On Gorgan-Ilemsky there are stone screes, so care is needed on the descent. Near the summit there is also a military plane crash site and a memorial.
The route can be completed in a day, but it will be a full day of walking and good physical condition is needed. A calmer option is with an overnight stay. Camp can be set up on the Mshana polonyna or on the Nimetska polonyna. There is water on the Nimetska polonyna, but some of the other springs along the route may be weak. At the end there is a long flat section along a stream and on a dirt road.
