Kukul from the village of Lazeshchyna

The route starts and ends in the village of Lazeshchyna. It goes through the forest to the Kukul ridge, past a waterfall, springs and First World War soldiers' cemeteries. Near one of the cemeteries, a little below Kukul, there are old trenches. On the Kukul polonyna you can take a break or stay overnight. There are places for tents near springs, in particular near the forest after the Pid-Berdy summit (1388 m). On the ridge and polonyna there are views of the Chornohora range, Petros, Hoverla, Svydovets and Gorgany. Further on, the route passes through the Bukovynka polonyna and the Verkh-Debry summit (1237 m) and returns to Lazeshchyna. On Bukovynka there are shepherds' huts, but in summer shepherds live there. It is better to collect water at reliable springs: the spring under the spruce on Kukul was barely flowing in August 2025.
