About the route
The route starts in Vorokhta and ends in Voronenko. It can be done in the opposite direction, or you can go from one village up to Polonyna Kukul and return the same way. A good option for a first overnight hike.
From Vorokhta the way mostly goes through forest, over Kichera at 1225 m. Then it comes out onto Polonyna Kukul and Pid-Berdy mountain, 1388 m. From here you can see the Chornohora ridge, including Hoverla and Petros. After the polonyna the route descends via Bukovynka to Voronenko.
There are several tent spots on Kukul and near Pid-Berdy. Water can be collected from springs along the way and near the polonynas, but do not rely on individual weak or dried-up springs. On the polonyna there are kolybas and farm buildings; in summer shepherds may be there, so it is better not to plan on sleeping in a kolyba. Lower down towards Voronenko the road is rough in places, and after rain it can be clayey and slippery.
