From Ivan to Ivan. Transition by Marmaros

A multi-day hike across the entire Marmaros massif, along the Romanian border. It starts in the village of Dilove. The route reaches the Lysycha meadow, then passes through Pip Ivan Marmaroskyi (1,936 m) and along the Marmaros ridge to Chornohora. There are several springs and places for rest breaks and tents on the Lysycha meadow. The shelter below Pip Ivan, where people often stayed in winter, burned down in January 2022. Water can be found in several places along the route, but there is a seasonal spring near Mount Radul. After Pip Ivan Marmaroskyi, the route goes through Kholovach, Bendriaska, Mezhypotoky, Neniska Velyka, Steavul, Bersyneskul, Radul and Vaskul. Near Mezhypotoky are the Death Rocks, which are dangerous cliffs, so extra care is needed there. The finish is at the summit of Pip Ivan Chornohirskyi (2,028 m). From here, you can continue hiking along the Chornohora ridge or descend to Dzembronia or Shybene. Please note: the route passes through a border zone, so a permit from the border guards is required.
