The whole Kostrich Ridge

The route starts near the checkpoint of the Carpathian National Nature Park and follows the entire Kostrich Ridge to the village of Krasnyk. It can also be done in the opposite direction. From Krasnyk, you can optionally continue to Iltsi. At the start, you need to ford the Prut. In rainy weather or after heavy rainfall, this can be dangerous. Entry to the national park is paid. The route first reaches the Vesnarka polonyna, then passes Kostrycha (1589 m), follows the ridge to Kostrich and Kostrytsia, and before descending to Krasnyk goes via Khedia (1355 m). Chornohora can be seen from the ridge. The route can be completed in a day, but there are places to stay overnight. Tents can be pitched on Vesnarka, with water available lower down. There is a campsite in the forest near Kostrytsia, and water should be collected on the traverse below. On the section below Mount Hiha, it is better to carry water in advance.
