About the route
Ascent to Petros from the village of Kvasy via Kvasy-Menčul (1305 m). At the beginning of the route there is the Burkut mineral spring. The road then gradually reaches the alpine meadows, passing a biostation and a cheese dairy.
There is water along the way at several springs and streams, but it is worth carrying a supply with you. There is a spring near the biostation, as well as a shepherd's hut with a stove. For an overnight stay, you can consider places near the stream approximately halfway along the route, or a spot with a spring closer to the foot of Petros.
The final ascent to the summit is the most difficult part. The route in the track is mapped only to Petros, without returning to Kvasy. As an option, you can descend from the summit by another route or continue the hike towards Hoverla. If you plan to return to Kvasy on the same day, allow enough time for the descent.
